VIETNAM AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY – AMAZING BREAKING NEWS – VINFAST TO BUY BMW’s LICENSE TO PRODUCE CARS IN VIETNAM
Vietnamese manufacturer will use car parts developed by BMW to add to the first two models.
The new co-operation is in the form of a frame contract, depending on the situation, the company will use some details developed by BMW. It is designed to use two Italdesign models including a sedan and an SUV.
Additionally, there will be two concept cars which are planned to be launched in 2018 and manufactured by Pininfarina (Italy) with a $ 5 million contract. Concept car is a product which is identical to a real-life product from the body shell, interior, chassis, engine, gearbox but not mass production. Two concept cars will be launched at the Paris Motor Show in October and in Vietnam in December.
The copyright acquisition of a few details to develop new vehicles is a common practice in the four wheel drive industry. Companies that have the potential but no experience in technology will go off to create models like other brands. Safety technologies such as three-point belts, ABS, electronic body-balance control, etc. were also invented by individual firms, then re-used or expanded.
Prior to BMW, Mr. Vuong’s car manufacturer company was said to be working with Bosch, Siemens, Magna Steyr, AVL … to make cars. The company will order all details from all the different manufacturers in the world, then synthesize into complete vehicles. This saves time, research costs and is especially suited to companies that do not have a automotive or engineering background. Vincom plans to sell its first cars by 2019.
